Appropos my island hopping analogy, another small island has fallen in the project to democratize the arab world.

What great news. It's like watching a block wall go up - one block at a time.
I wonder who will allow the first free speech satellite station in the Arab world that broadcasts for democracy and against extremism.
They seem to be pretty big on free speech in the UAE. Perhaps a rival to al-jazeera (based there) will someday emerge.
I'd add such a thing to a list of metrics.
Voices are already shifting. Before Iraq, nothing.
I blame Bush.
