An..."and he never, ever made a decision"

And in my life experience that's because your previous boss, as Obama, are simply incapable, for whatever reason, of accepting responsibility for their actions. Always leaving themselves an out. That attribute being possibly the worst trait one could have as a leader. Half-assing just doesn't do it when the stakes are high.Lutherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08901441364329385474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16821859.post-71827936990356072572011-04-28T13:23:22.248-06:002011-04-28T13:23:22.248-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Lutherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08901441364329385474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16821859.post-62031752527631343242011-04-27T20:55:36.008-06:002011-04-27T20:55:36.008-06:00Luther,
No, you don't sound overblown. there ...Luther,

No, you don't sound overblown. there are a lot of murderous people over there. They will shed blood trying to get their way.

As for our diplomacy, or whatever you want to call it, Obama is a rock-solid idiot when it comes to history and international affairs..

I had a boss once who didn't remotely know what he was doing. So he called for reports he never read, formed committees that never stopped meeting, and he never, ever made a decision.

Obama reminds me of him. What I think is going on currently is that as he dithers bits and pieces of the State Department are careening off on their own trying to implement something, anything, without a clear idea what our policy is. What a depressing mess.

Not good. not good at all...ambisinistralhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03836786826294202405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16821859.post-5148347946867199252011-04-27T20:01:38.592-06:002011-04-27T20:01:38.592-06:00The issue may be, I think, in anyone believing any...The issue may be, I think, in anyone believing anything out of an Islamist mouth other than kill the Jews. And then comes the rest... infidels, etc.

That is the bottom line.

We either resist that notion, or succumb to it. At the moment 'we' are trying engagement, with nuanced and smart diplomacy, or so said.

The longer we wait the more fierce the flames in confronting this menace.

I know I sound overblown, here. But I can't help it, it seems headed that way, no matter what I say.Lutherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08901441364329385474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16821859.post-70936200085450052592011-04-27T19:32:59.911-06:002011-04-27T19:32:59.911-06:00I'll grant to overreaction on my part, perhaps...I'll grant to overreaction on my part, perhaps. But... Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, etc. Where, exactly, will they end up on the political mortarboard. And then, Turkey, Lebanon, the various Stan's of Southern Russian. I'm sorry, but I see nothing but bleak Islamic rule in all these areas within five or so years. No, not the original Caliphate, Ottoman Empire, but nonetheless an area of darkness.

I do agree at Syria being the fulcrum of the moment, and yet, you see the response of the world compared to the situation in Lybia. My question is WTF? Why that difference in response.Lutherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08901441364329385474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16821859.post-69135676503702458892011-04-26T22:20:39.549-06:002011-04-26T22:20:39.549-06:00I think the caliphate is pipe dream in certain Mus...I think the caliphate is pipe dream in certain Muslim minds. That said, i have little doubt Obama is going to make a bad situation worse, if only through neglect.

What strikes me odd about this Stratfor article, aside from the fact that Iran and Iraq hate each other (Friedman is big on Geopolitics so you would think he would factor that in), is it only works if you pull Syria out of the equation. I think Syria is the fulcrum right at the moment.

If it goes it is a bad blow to Iran. They could end up with their supply route vto Hezz in southern Lebanon cut and a lot of people in their own country thinking, "Hmmm... myybe if we push a little harder?"

The situation over their is a complete mess.ambisinistralhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03836786826294202405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16821859.post-86131102090433344012011-04-26T20:12:11.857-06:002011-04-26T20:12:11.857-06:00An interesting analysis but overly complex, and in...An interesting analysis but overly complex, and in my view wrong, in the sense of American interests at present. So, I'll take a swipe at a Gordian Knot end game to this mess. The interest that I believe the current administration to hold.

Allow the Caliphate.

As it is rather obvious to me, that the Mid-East will be such in a few years. Most especially if our current President gains a second term.Lutherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08901441364329385474noreply@blogger.com
