PJM funded by Satan

As some of our dozens of readers know, we at Flares came together originally as a bunch of similar-minded commenters on Roger L Simon's blog. Roger, along with Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, have started a new startup called Pajamas Open Source Pajamas Media, which is intended to provide a business model through which bloggers can realize some income from the page views they receive, other than tips and BlogAds.

Now, we at Flares have been purposefully silent on PJM. There have been a lot of different controversies on the topic, and it turns out that various of us have friends on all sides, so we just saw it as the better part of valor.

Nor do I intend to post anything about PJM, its business model, the principals or their substantive critics, or its business practices now, and as on some previous topics, attempts to start that argument in comments will be summarily and mercilessly deleted. With cackles of great glee.

This, however, is just too delicious to miss:

so to review:

1. we have an administration that has been caught corrupting every branch of the media
2. the department of defense being advised to pay off foreign alternative news sources including blogs
3. a group of hawkish bloggers who for some reason believe that propaganda is otay
4. a sloppy semi-international group of mostly bush loyalists with $3.5 million in funding
from a warchest of $600+ million for access to their side bars and all their ad space
5. major conservative bloggers balking or backing out once theyve seen the evil up close
6. current pajamas-wearers not denying that im wrong, but instead calling me names
7. the co-founder of the project gleefully admiting that his venture is indeed
in the propaganda business and target is the US citizens... not Iraqis
8. the angel investor of Pajamas Media, Aubrey Chernick
has deep ties to BushCo most recently in
crisis management readiness

the emperor has no clothes but his flunkies are sellouts in pjs

Yup, you got it. PJM is funded by the CIA.

I hope Roger et al have a good collection department. CIA is a notorious slow payer.

Well finally... the CIA is doing something other than stabbing Bush in the back.

High effing time.

LOL. Great point terrye. But surely someone would have let the secret out by now.

OT, the template here seems to have changed, also there is no sidebar. My system or yours?

How transparent can a guy get? If I might translate for any visiting lost souls: "yo, Georgie boy, hows about throwing some of that open society loot my way! Cyberia is the next domain in need of your magic touch. Right now it is ruled by Cossacks with their thumbs on Bangladeshi sweat shop knitters. Help us. We're Dying!!! But I can still Organize our response!!!

The people who understand these things were trying to lighten things up and make it easier to read.

I am just along for the ride.

according to the source, it's not CIA, its Rove. "Pimp Daddy Rove," to be precise.

can simple argument reach someone like this?

Pimp Daddy Rove...no simple argument can not reach someone like this.

Holy water and a priest might be necessary to reach somebody like this.

Was I misunderstood? I was commenting on the malfeasance, duplicity and sometimes traitorous actions of some in the CIA. I did get the humor of the post and your comment, and you are way more than along for the ride.

Luther,

Occasionally we at YARBG are overcome by modesty and put the sidebar waaay down at the bottom.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Luther, what browser and operating system are you using?

Woo-hoo--the Bush, flying the Jolly Roger, sailing the bounding main, and this guy don't like it, don't like it one bit, nosiree. Shoot, I'd be passing proud to be accused of helping my president on this parlous voyage. Wot the dickens is the MATTER with these people?

Memo to the Turkmenbashi:

I too can be bought. Send me a couple of bushels full of Turkmen Manats and I'll stop saying mean things about you.

P.S. Naming Friday after me might also help tone down my rhetoric.

Though I certainly understand the modesty aspect, and think you should stick to it, I also appreciate the very smart marketing, scroll past all the posts to get to the sidebar. Clever.

Latest XP, latest IE.

Yeah, I'm such a traditionalist.

Propaganda in tempora belli?
Imagine that.

And directed at the homefront? Not that!!!

Oh, you mean like the classic posters, "Uncle Sam Wants You!" and "Loose lips sink ships."

Or fully half the movies from 1940 through 1945. Or the radio programs. Or the advertisements on the radio and in magazines.

And the reporters like Ernie Pyle? Propaganda, huh?

Prayers from the CIC before key battles.

Apologia for tactical disasters like the "bridge too far", the gliders over Normandie, the failure to anticipate the hedgerows delaying the breakout after the Normandie invasion, Monte Casino, the Bulge, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, with casualties of several hundred thousand boys -- the list goes on and on.

I sure wouldn't want to be emulating that tradition, would you?

Much too naive and unsophisticated.

Lacks nuance of course.

I wonder how that crew came to be known as "the greatest generation"?

Luther --- try Firefox.

IE. Ick.

buddy larsen said...

vnjagvet--don't forget the Office of War Information. Jeez, what happened to The Greatest Generation's "right to know" ?

Great stuff, Buddy. It took only 6 months from Pearl Harbor to get that office up and running.

I wonder what kind of a budget it had?

buddy larsen said...

I'm sure the budget--like everything else in the WWII effort was--"whatever it takes to win". How many great leaders have said "there's no substitute for victory"?

As Liz Trotta said last weekend in a FoxNews interview, OIW didn't just control overseas war info--it controlled domestic was info, too--and everybody knew it, and everybody agreed with it--that the people's "right to know" was trumped by their "right to not know"...under conditions where 'right-to-know' kills people.
