It's not too late to buy some dinars.

Gosh,

And how about that electricity supply, eh? Higher than before the war. And why compare the number of mobile phones to two years ago instead of four years ago? How about the number of satellite dishes, how do they compare to four years ago? And why haven't we been seeing reports on this stuff for the last two years? It's not like it is a new thing.

News coverage of Iraq was, and is, absolute crap. Too bad those publications doing the reporting still have enough circulation to matter.

Iraq the Model also talks about the Iraqi economy

It's worth mentioning that between 1946 and the beginning of 2003 a total of 8374 businesses were registered while between April 2003 and the end of 2005 more than 20,000 have been registered. During last month alone 286 new businesses were added. Such statistics seem quite extraordinary under the current security situation which sadly continues to overshadow and limits further improvement of this aspect of life in Iraq.
