Air America Beats the New York Times

OK - so it's just to bankruptcy court. Thomas Lifson continues his sterling work on explaining how the Times plans to catch up with Air America in another excellent piece at The American Thinker. Thom has really put some effort into exploring the depth of the incompetence shown by Junior Sulzberger and his team as they seek to reap sedition's reward.

Air America is much smaller than the NYT, of course, and that provides the explanation of how they managed to claim first prize in the Sedition Sweepstakes. Al Franken is just as incompetent as Sulzberger or Keller could ever hope to be and it was only his arrogant stupidity and the fact that he had so much less to lose that allowed him to drive his organization into the ground ahead of the fellows over on 43rd St.

One can only hope that others of similiar ilk will press blindly forward down that true progressives path to share in Air America's well earned and most deserved reward. There's room there for all of them.

"EXCLUSIVE: Air America To Declare Bankruptcy, But Progressive Radio Remains Strong http://thinkprogress.org/2006/09/13/air-america-bankruptcy

The right wing is sure to seize on Air America’s financial woes as a sign that progressive talk radio is unpopular. In fact, Air America succeeded at creating something that didn’t exist: the progressive talk radio format. That format is now established and strong and will continue with or without Air America. Indeed, many of the country’s most successful and widely-syndicated progressive talk hosts — Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller, for instance — aren’t even associated with Air America.[/quote]

Going broke, in other words, is okay as it sets the template for other similar media adventures .And it proves that the notion of "progressive talk radio" is a sound idea. All they need to do is find new backers with money and a shared view that losing money is winning.

  2. How can anyone in their right mind look at the article quoted by CF and say that this isn't a form of faith?

  3. But MHA, it is the *true* faith. The others are false.
