Good Publicity for Russian Weapons Makers

Beyond no-man's land, in the east of the village, was evidence of Syrian-supplied hardware. In a garden next to a junction used as an outpost by Hizbollah lay eight Kornet anti-tank rockets, described by Brig Mickey Edelstein, the commander of the Nahal troops who took Ghandouriyeh, as "some of the best in the world".

Written underneath a contract number on each casing were the words: "Customer: Ministry of Defence of Syria. Supplier: KBP, Tula, Russia."
Telegraph

I'll bet the French are green with envy over the Russians getting the order. Maybe a pale green as they consider that their contribution of troops to UNIFIL will be facing these - if they ever come out of their barracks.

  1. Well Rick, we all, deep down, know this, don't we?
Russia and China are still after the imperialist hegemony, are they not? Without weapons from elsewhere, how big a threat would Iran or Syria be? This war has more players than commonly acknowledged.

  2. Sure. I just thought the Syrian contract number and the Russian companies name were a nice touch.

It's also a good reason not to bother to send an inspection force into Iran until after a very, very long air campaign.

  3. Sorry for stating the obvious. Yes, the numbers are an interesting point, one would think they would have been painted over.

  4. I think it's very important to recognize and to trumpet from the highest peaks the salient fact that, worldwide, our enemies and former allies are gathering together to destroy us. Chavez is making deals with the Chinese, who are running the Panama Canal, who are selling missiles to the Iranians, who are getting the bomb, who sold missiles to Hezbollah. Russians helping Syrians helping Hezbollah. It's everywhere you look, under every rock. When will we wake up?

  5. Looks as though there has been a lot of intelligence gathered in the past few weeks.

A fairly valuable recon mission if it is put to good use.

I don't mean to be unkind but lately after I read your posts I just kind of want to shoot myself.

So do you think we should kill them all first?

maybe you want to add a "/sarc"
    tag for the occasional
    YARGB drop-ins and drive-bys.
