Above is an ad that was in The Saturday Evening Post on Nov. 2, 1940. Today is Election Day. Once that meant it was the day ballots were cast, now -- thanks to the execrable idea of weeks of early voting -- it just means the last day ballots can be cast (in theory).
Regardless, with the votes in the game changes. Political actions no longer need to be calibrated against votes won or lost, instead there is a different calculus. Keep that in mind as things unfold.
