I don't normally comment on these Friday music videos, but this is really an odd fusion of music styles. The band is from Tulva, a Russian republic nestled against Mongolia. Their cover of the Creedance Clearwater Revival song starts with a traditional flute and some throat singing. When the guitars come in they're a rather funkified sounding. Finally, when the horns come in, I was struck by how they sounded like something out of Sun Ra. Sure enough, when I read about the band Sun Ra's Arkestra was their exposure to American Jazz. The result is a weird blend of psychedelic, rock, funk, jazz and ethnic music.
