This is surprising

Whatever the European media might say, if this poll is correct the majority of the people supported the execution of Saddam Hussein.

Nope, it is not surprising! The polls have consistently shown that the majority of Europeans differ with their "elites" on this manner. The problem is that they have little power. Their vote, in many ways, is often meaningless. At the end of the day, the elites run the show.
