So even germane posts get yanked?

You are a piece of work.

What does "capricious" mean on your planet?

Comment away - on this thread - I'm done with it.

habu, as i was saying @ belmont --it ain't you, it ain't rick, it's this god-forsaken immigration situation. There's no way out of the mess, and everybody but everybody is sick to death of it. But being sick of it doesn't make it go away. You simply wandered into a room with a lot of folks already worn-out, despaired, and sick of the issue. terrye hangs in there against the tide, trying to point to the humane side of the issue--simply because someone ought to. so, the timing was bad, that's all. you & rick on any other day on any other topic would enjoy each other's thoughts and expressions very much. i think the world of both of you, and terrye is my internet heroine. it's this issue, it's unstable, it's a red strobe light.

Habu,

Scroll down and read the column on the right side. The policy has been there since inception. The fact that you stumble from blog to blog without ascertaining whether the particular blog invites or discourages off topic posts isn't really my problem.

MHA took some time on his post - which you obviously didn't read - and your OT comments are the equivalent of taking your dog over to the neighbors to take a dump on his lawn.

I elevated your first OT comment here to a Habu Says post. You can actually find it if you take a minute. I recognize that broad hints do not work in all cases so I made my position clear. I haven't touched any of the inanities posted on the correct thread nor will I.

Just remember that this this isn't the county dump.

Rick,
I am going to take down my last post. I think Buddy is right and I can be a bore...you were doing what was best, I was being a pest..tomorrow is another day, lets move forward
I respect Buddy Larsen immensely although I've never met him. If he says you a good man, which he does , then I know damn well you're a good man. If he says Terrye is a heroine then it's only my ignorance and big mouth that put us all off course..Terrye please accept the fact that most men can be huge jerks every once in a while....

Habu,

I don't mind being hollered at or disparaged and I don't mind a good argument. Terrye (and other contributors) have disagreed with some of my posts here very vociferously.

What I do mind is OT comments right at the beginning of a new post - my whole and practically only point in hollering at you.

If you would like to express your viewpoint wrt immigration as a freestanding post here I'll be happy to put it up. Send it to me in an email (just click my name up on the right side).

Habu, funny, mercurial, patriotic, hyperbolic, but all okay, all the way--

rick, Maggie's just featured MHA's post.

Rick,

Thanks for the offer. I think if I just stay on topic we'll do better. And as I said Buddy Larsen says you're a great guy, that means in my book you're a great guy.
Lets just erase today.

Terrye if you're reading this please accept my apology and let us go forward also..

Habu,
Who is this "Buddy Larsen?"
Does he have a Fan Club?

The Faithful Heretic
Bryson mentions the retreat of Alpine glaciers, common grist for current headlines. “What do they find when the ice sheets retreat, in the Alps?”

We recall the two-year-old report saying a mature forest and agricultural water-management structures had been discovered emerging from the ice, seeing sunlight for the first time in thousands of years. Bryson interrupts excitedly.

“A silver mine!
The guys had stacked up their tools because they were going to be back the next spring to mine more silver, only the snow never went,” he says.

“There used to be less ice than now.
It’s just getting back to normal.”

What Leads, What Follows?

---
Long ago in the Army Air Corps, Bryson and a colleague prepared the aviation weather forecast that predicted discovery of the jet stream by a group of B-29s flying to and from Tokyo. Their warning to expect westerly winds at 168 knots earned Bryson and his friend a chewing out from a general—and the general’s apology the next day when he learned they were right. Bryson flew into a couple of typhoons in 1944, three years before the Weather Service officially did such things, and he prepared the forecast for the homeward flight of the Enola Gay. Back in Wisconsin, he built a program at the UW that’s trained some of the nation’s leading climatologists.

How Little We Know

Bryson is a believer in climate change, in that he’s as quick as anyone to acknowledge that Earth’s climate has done nothing but change throughout the planet’s existence. In fact, he took that knowledge a big step further, earlier than probably anyone else...

If they found 1,000 year old Silver Mines when the Ice receded in Switzerland, who knows what will show up in Scandanavia as the current warming heats up?

Seems some Cavemen from that region have ALREADY thawed and made it to our shores to do gawd knows what, and bask in the glory of their followers.

Perhaps at the height of this cycle, areas in Denmark and the like will mimic our Southern Swamps, and some of these intruders will find it too warm here for their taste and return to the swamps of their homeland?

Now Doug, don't you know that Mann et al ad nauseum along with the Group for Consensual Climatology spent years developing the hockey schmuck theory and have conclusively... (what's a word like "proven" that doesn't involve proof?) shown? that man is responsible for carbon dating (or something like that).

At any rate - if you don't stop posting stuff like that the UN High Court is gonna give you ten years at counting the rings on bipolar yew trees (found only in northern Greenland).

American Citizens are being whacked around like hockey schmucks.

I gotta dig out my Climatology book from College:
Pretty sure the Prof who wrote it was from University of Wisconsin.
Not this guy, tho.
