Back in the bread queue | Samizdata.net: "They have a vision of a vastly reduced population living simply on simple foods. A population that is suitably grateful to their beneficent rulers, who, because of the burden they carry, live in air conditioned comfort as they jet from climate conferences in Africa to something else ‘right on’ conferences in somewhere else far a way and interesting."

That's OK, they'll just order their serfs to plant more trees or something. No doubt the future aristocracy will trace their roots back to Al Gore and boast about it.

They have a vision of a vastly reduced population living simply on simple foods.

And after the mass starvations, all will be very nice and Neolithic. Back to the simple life in the Danish peat bogs. Too bad for them - and their vision - that the billions of Indians and Chinese just beginning to crawl up from poverty will never share it.

Skook,

It would be nice if Ms. Bunting could wake up tomorrow morning in a little cabin constructed of copies of On Walden Pond. At the north end of Gibson Reservoir in Montana. I understand it's a beautiful area and conducive to leading a simple, if short, life.

Shouldn't we all simply live to be told what to do by our moral betters like Algore?

Algore is getting so fat, it's not his carbon footprint we have to worry about, but his regular footprint.
