Here's something enjoyable, a success story about the recovery of two great Californians, as briefly told in a new blog.
The author of the blog is a fellow I have long known and admired, a mechanical engineer, marine biologist, naturalist, wildlife photographer and videographer, who resides in Monterey.

Jamie,
Have you ever been down to Pinnacles to take a look? This is the first that I had heard that condors had been reintroduced into that habitat.
I missed my annual trek to see the sea elephants so perhaps I'll try for condors this year. Not near dead whales though. They stink badly enough when alive.
Rick,
Haven't been to Pinnacles in many a year.
By an odd coincidence, I'm driving past them late tonight (on 101). Nina and I are driving down to Southern California for our son Gavan's graduation.
If you want to see condors I can put you in touch with someone who could give you advice.

I can't guarantee you'll see Condor #11, though...
;-)

I would appreciate that.
Have a safe trip and give my congratulations to Gavan.
