The Belmont Club: After the Elections

The Belmont Club: After the Elections: "There is now a much smaller chance that the terrorist problem can be resolved at a low level of conflict. There is a greater likelihood that it will be allowed by neglect or paralysis to metastize into a canker which will develop into a catastrophic confrontation in five or ten years time. A likelihood, but not a certainty."

There is also the chance that the Iraqi government will take the strong hint that it has to shape up and FIGHT.

Iraq is a microcosm of the Big War and represents a democracy fighting a terrorist movement in its midst.

Perhaps they'll finally recognize that fact. That's my hope now.
