If Syria — or elements in Saudi Arabia — began acting on this information before we even went to war in Iraq (more than a year later), then Senator Rockefeller may have seriously harmed, impeded, and hindered our war efforts, our troops, and the entire operation in the Middle East. This should be investigated immediately; and perhaps Senator Rockefeller should step down from the Intelligence Committee until an investigation is complete.

"What was he thinking"? He was thinking that dropping this enhanced his credential with a bunch of Middle eastern despots he was trying to impress. Thus his "Gee guys,I'm really important,I really know stuff!"
He's the same as that cretin that announced you could track al Qaeda's phones.
What makes the Dems think this whole line of attack is or was a good idea? They cannot possibly win this battle but they can potentially lose big. What a bunch of maroons.
This does not really concern me. Do you think the Saudi's et all didn't believe it anyway?
Syl,
Regardless of what they believed the Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee should NOT have done what he claims he did.
This is just further evidence that upper echelon Dems find important is themselves. They just do not seem to have any concept of their responsibilities to the nation.
The sad thing is that we know there will be no call for an investigation. Even Republican senators shy away from embarrassing a member of the inner circle. Why are the Democrats so nonchalant about these matters? That’s a no brainer. Deep in their guts, they have bought into the Chomsky/Said thesis that the West is responsible for the rage of the Muslim world. The war of terror is something of a misnomer. We merely need to treat the Islamic militants nicely and they will become peaceful and loving. Needless to add, allowing Israel to be destroyed will almost certainly make everything better.
I agree with Instapundit on this. He said something yesterday.
BTW, is anyone else having trouble getting to Roger's?
Syl,
I get a "you are not authorized to view" message - never seen that one berfore. LGF is OK.
I don't believe that I would care to see an investigation on this. I just want the quote highlighted widely as the election draws near.
"This is the type of man the Democrats choose as head of their side of the very important Intelligence Committee. He warned Syria of our impending attack. He revealed much more than he should have to a potential adversary."
"Can you afford to vote for a party willing to sacrifice innocent lives for political advantage?"
I'll have to tighten it up a bit but it's a nice, clear, factually based message. I hope the Dems enjoy seeing it broadcast.
"Needless to add, allowing Israel to be destroyed will almost certainly make everything better."

at the risk of
using the odious phrase
"the Jewish Problem",
many of the issues for(both,or all sides)are tied up in this Gordian Knot.
for myself,
i can see that the defeat of Israel would be vindication for the
"replacement theology" of Islam.
i personally have no doubt
what this "message" this would represent to the Muslim world,
and particularly the jihadists in their effort to "lead" the Muslim world, nor am i sanguine about the disaster it would be for freedom in the world at large.
50% of the population seems to
configure the whole thing rather differently in their collective "head".
Does anyone really believe this guy would have this job if his last name was not Rockeller?
If we have an investigation everytime a Senator says something stupid...well let's just say it would tie things up a bit.

Terrye,

This doesn't require an investigation. What it does require, but will not get, is for the senator feller who is dumb as a rock to be removed from his position on the Intelligence Committee. His feller rocks upon which our legislature is build need to approach the dope, break his sword in half and tear his buttons off, enter a letter of censure into the record, and tell him he just disqualified himself from sitting on intelligence committees and until they crank up an unintelligence committee he'll have no further committee role within the legislative chamber.
Knuck,
You don't think they would let him have anything as dangerous as a sword? Snap his crayons and ban him from the sand pit.
Peter,
I love it when you bring old world charm to our little forum. Sometimes it is necessary, however, to point out the New World realities. We don't use those nasty old world steel swords. People might get hurt. Only US Marines are allowed steel swords and those are not sharpened. Congress critters get the same swords as the kids get at Halloween - the floppy, plastic kind.
Also, keep in mind that there is no way we could allow the siezure of Senate crayons. We have laws against cruel and unusual punishment. Taking crayons away from infantile legislators would qualify as cruel and certainly unusual. Without their crayons what would they have?
Knuck,
Finger painting and sock puppets?
We really are too soft with our traitors nowadays, traditional methods were much the best, beats Nascar into a cocked hat for spectacle.
