The Officer's Club

A fine source on military topics, I've just added The Officer's Club to our blogroll.

Update: Per Chuck's suggestion, I've also added ThreatsWatch.

We should also add Bill Roggio's new home.

great link, Seneca. just went to 'favorites...if you want to go deeper into Roarke's drift, the great Victor Davis Hanson has an entire chapter in one of his later books (see google for which). Hanson examines in great detail; strong emphasis on survival in such an incredible set being a matter of, you guessed it, unit cohesion.

Neat stuff.

For Rorke's drift, just watch "Zulu". Heh.

You know how you get a "double" watching an old film about an even earlier event? "Zulu" qualifies--for me--on the strength of the breathtaking Zulu war songs. You can see that the director just stood back and let the ancient old Zulu elders put the 'look' and sound together. The 60s movie isn't that old, but you won't hear the like of that sound-track again.

Chuck: done. Or at least so I hope; my 'Officer's Club' had disappeared when I came back.
