Wow. That's one crowd that didn't need photo cropping to look large.

What happens if Jimmah certifies a phony election - again? Chavez has been arming militias for a bit and Commies aren't known for leaving town quietly after a loss.

Will there even be an election?

I'm with Rick. I'm afraid democracy has already exited the stage. I'm sure mass rallies against Castro would be held too, despite what the Democrats of the Northeast may have convinced themselves. Mass rallies may still mean something in France; elsewhere they may not matter at all.

These folks look brave to me..and I will ersonally pull Carter's passport if he tries to interfere..I think Chavez is in big trouble..His opponent is doing very well and his effort to politicize the running of the petro business is his downfall.

The cure for Chavez is probably going to have to be a single dose of 180 grams of Pb administered aurally. The question is: Who's going to administer the appropriate medication?

Rick:

The p-o'd middle class of Venezuela, that's who.

I would appear the "lampost option" is looming for Senor Chavez,he will be caught, after a nasty scuffle, exiting with Venezuela's treasury, the towels from the Presidential Palace and an autographed picture of Cindy Sheehan.

Peter,

Maybe he could hang around with Saddam? Heck, maybe we could give Ahmadinnerjacket and L'il Kim a call and set up a foursome.

I'd sure buy a ticket to watch them swing away.

Rick,
Smacks too much of exclusion, better throw Jimmah in there to avoid accusations of bias.

Oh no. Jimmah has to be around on January 20th, 2009 for the inauguration of another Republican President. Or at least until November 4, 2008 so he'd know that Republicans had held and would hold the Presidency for 24 of the 32 years following his disastrous performance with the 8 Democratic years crowned by an impeachment.

If enough people get fed up with Hugo it might not be that easy to slide by another election. Sooner or later even the Soviets fell.

I think Rosales might win the election, he is way ahead in the polls. The question then would be, will Hugo leae town like he is supposed to?
