More on the Cartoon Jihad

TWELVE Danish cartoonists whose pictures sparked such outcry have gone into hiding under round-the-clock protection, fearing for their lives.

Mohammed Sayed Tantawi, head of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, proposed to raise the matter with the "U.N.'s concerned committees" and human rights groups. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League want the U.N. General Assembly to pass "a binding resolution banning contempt for religious beliefs and providing for sanctions to be imposed on contravening countries or institutions."

"UN to Investigate Racism of Danish Cartoonists".

“UN to Investigate Racism of Danish Cartoonists.”

What in hell is this all about? How can any cartoon satirically dealing with Islam be deemed per se racist? If nothing else, a number of Muslims are white.

Oh come on. The UN is racist, always has been. They can investigate themselves.

David,

I think the game being played is something like this:

Racism is always bad.
If I condemn something as racist, it will be bad.
Therefore, everything I don't like is "racist".

Why Denmark? Why now? Why are the demonstrations so well organized? Where did all the Danish flags appear from in the Palestinian Authority areas?
http://www.melaniephillips.com/diary/ notes:
"when the UN Security Council gets round to considering what form of sanctions to impose on Iran, guess to whom chairmanship of the Council will have passed. You’ve got it... plucky little Denmark.
Suddenly, the pieces fall into shape. The rumpus suddenly escalated, complete with fabricated offensive cartoons, to so enflame Muslim opinion that Denmark could be intimidated directly through a threatened Muslim boycott of its goods, or indirectly by the EU fearful of a wider boycott, into voting in favour of Iran."

What's wrong with calling the Islamic media on spreading malicious lies about Israel, the US, the Articles of Zion anyone? the disgusting cartoons in Al Jazeera?, Arafat's saying one thing to the world and the opposite to his people in Arabic? You want that to continue? What is wrong with calling them on their hypocrisy in response to the Danish cartoons? What the fuck is wrong with saying George Bush is perfectly justified by their calculation in dropping a thousand 500 lb. bombs on Al Jazeera HQ in Dubai down the street from CENTCOM? Tell me cuz I really want to know.
