I forgive

These were Sister Leonella Sgorbati's dying words. Maher and Rosie might think there is no difference between religions, they are all bad, but I do not believe that and I don't know how any rational person can.

I was looking at Hugh Hewitt's and there was a post up on the Maher show, it seems that the guest all agree, atheists don't start wars. There was also some remark about bin Bush or something and not long ago I was reading on the Anchoress about some idiot remarks Rosie had made comparing southern Baptists to Islamists.

My Grandmother was a southern Baptist. So far as I know she never flew any planes into any buildings.

I think people who make these kinds of remarks are very provincial and very ignorant.

Ignorance of the anthropological and historical nature of religion is perhaps the greatest or most fundamental reason why at least half the population of the west just doesn't get what's going on. However, the fact that our enemies keep insisting that they are acting in the name of their sacred religion, all Religion of Peace advocates notwithstanding, may eventually sink home. In this respect they do us a favour in clarifying the issue. Just think how different the west would be if everyone could really grasp where the Jihadis were coming from.

Well, let's not forget the postmodern "all opinions are equal" point of view here. In such a world, it's just as valid and reasonable for a Jihadi to want to personally cut your throat as it is for Sweden to vote Socialist.

That depends on whose throat it is. These people can get pretty excited when their own butts are on the line.

That does not mean they are not provincial.
