It's not just the over-e3ndowed Ivies, unfortunately. Our major foundations exist on mounds (billions) of tax-free dollars with little accountability to anyone and have increasingly used those funds to undermine American values and interests. The viciously anti-American and anti-Semitic Durban conference, for example, was funded almost entirely by the Ford foundation. It's time to set more rigid oversight standards for these operations which now have the independence and funds equal to the giant Abbies monastaries of Medieval Europe.
