Famous for marrying former Beatle Paul McCartney in 2002, Heather Mills McCartney, 38, is embarking on a crusade to eliminate milk from the British diet. Mrs. McCartney credits a dairy-free, vegan diet with helping her to overcome a post-operative infection following the amputation of a leg.
According to Wikipedia, in August 1993, she was hit by a police motorcycle while crossing the road; her injuries included crushed ribs, a punctured lung, a metal plate needing to be put in her pelvis and the amputation of her left leg below the knee. She has a prosthetic leg, and was noted for taking it off and showing it Larry King on his talk show in the US.
She also campaigns against land mines and fur.

David, just don't drink too much Thunderbird in a Texas bar. See the next post.
Oh Canada....finally in the crosshairs of celebrity do-gooders. The theme of the evening appears to be how know-it-alls want to control what goes into your body, be it Mrs. McCartney or the Texas legislature.
I was a vegan once for several motnhs, and I learned two things: first, the reason vegans are more peaceful than those of a more omnivorous bent is that vegans are too tired to make trouble; and second, there's a reason cattle look so bored.
I have never figured out why, if we're not supposed to eat animals, are they made out of meat?
Bad design choice.
During the vegan phase, a friend looked at what I was having for dinner and said "That's not food. that's what food eats."
I'm six foot seven, 15 stone of pure muscle and I work as a tiger wrestler. I've never eaten meat and I haven't drunk milk since I was 10. So, you want a go?
By the way, rick ballard, people are made of meat too. You eat them? And cats, and fluffly little bunnies.
