The eggs have been decorated, the Easter Bunny has hidden them away, if you're of the mind you've gone to Church, and an Easter meal awaits. Below, in keeping with my habit of posting artwork on Sunday, I offer a small sample of lily paintings.
On this Easter my picture post is a small collection of lilies. They are old
naturalist pictures of the flowers from
Picture Box Blue
where you can find more examples. Enjoy your Easter.
In this Victorian Easter card we have an old geezer getting knocked silly by rabbits tossing Easter eggs at him. I guess it is all about the end of winter, but it seems rather uncalled for nonetheless. Anyway, Happy Easter and I hope you're more civil and in the spirit of the holiday than our rabbit hooligans.
Another Easter, another bizarre Victorian Easter card. I confess to having no idea why some bumble bees and rock tossing frogs would ambush a couple of Easter bunnies. Whatever the reason, it appears to be a serious fracas. Perhaps if I were a Victorian hepcat I would get the joke, but as it is, it is a mystery to my 21st Century self.
I'm not sure what kind of Easter message is delivered by babies using hammers to smash open eggs with live chicks in them, but who am I to question the Victorian mind? Anyway, have a good Easter.
Above is an old-timey Victorian Easter card. I'm not sure what the connection between Easter and gentlemen rabbits dueling while mounted on chickens is, but I'm sure there is a good reason for it all. Or maybe not. Regardless, have a good Easter.
The above video is the YouTube channel of som's fade. I believe he is Nigerian. His videos are obviously homemade and don't get a lot of views. Kind of like this blog come to think of it, except I'm not Nigerian. I wish him luck in his endeavors.
Anyway, in his video he tells an Easter tale while acts out the parts of Dina and Momma Dina. Dina asks his mom for money for Easter. His mother says no, but promises him she'll cook his favorite meal for Easter. He insults her cooking and ends up on an Easter fast as a result. Will he be able to grovel his way back into Momma Dina's good graces? You'll have to watch to find out.
Below is another video appropriate for Easter. Like the above video, it deals with matters other than crass commercialism. Happy Easter all.
If you haven't decorated your Easter eggs yet you can always build one of these handy devices to assist you with the job. From JK Brickworks, which has information about the egg decorator, as well as the Hatching LEGO Eggs (below), and many more LEGO projects.
