Puzzle

I've been less able to follow the news, much less comment, for some time here --- new job in real life, that kind of thing. So I suppose I've just missed something ....

... but can anyone point out to me where Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have protested the recent murder of US captives, the violation of the Geneva Conventions involved in executing prisons, or decried the immorality of torturing these soldiers who were "killed in a barbaric way"?

I'd hate to think they didn't notice.

Update: Anyone hearing crickets?

Well, I'll be damned.

"Amnesty International, first and foremost, extends its sincerest condolences to the families of Pfc. Kristian Menchaca and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker for their tragic loss. We are deeply disturbed by reports that these two soldiers were brutally tortured. These reports, if proven true, may rise to the level of war crimes. &mdash US Newswire via Yahoo

Apparently Amnesty International is too busy with Angelina Jolie and protesting the suicides at Gitmo to be worried about a couple of US soldiers.

Well SyT, the enemy that may truly defeat us has not changed during your absence. Their focus is still on those that least threaten them and their benefactors. But, of course, they will not be persuaded to think otherwise. They do have donations and such to worry about.

Augh. "Protested" vice "protected".

You're absolutely right, Luther. It's all about hustling the marks - selling those nickel tickets to 'The Great Egress'.

This is turning out to be an entertaining week - between Kossack payola stories and TruthOut lies a few of the marks may wake up enough to at least stop sending money.

Angelina is so brave. Maybe she would like to take one of those nice terrorists home to babysit.

Besides we all know that the people who killed those soldiers are just protesting the unlawful occupation of Iraq.

I suppose Amnesty is concerned is concerned that any real criticism of the terrorists might drive away their donors.

I guess they were shamed into it.

Well, good for them for acknowledging that. But who exactly will they call to account-what's the address of al Qaeda?

"The great egress" LOL.

Notice the prevarication though. "...these charges if true..."

Not like I remember that sort of language when they talk about US Marines.
