The above pictures are strange. They become even stranger when you realize that the old geezers are reenacting famous Vietnam pictures. I found them on the web, without an attached explanation. My search yielded nothing but the discovery that, like the Civil War era, Vietnam has groups that stage reenactments. Aside from that nothing.
I can't begin to imagine the series of circumstances that led to the old folks staging these pictures.

Did they tie up and pretend to kill the family of the guy with the pistol, throwing them into a ditch, before staging the execution? Curious people need to know.
Yea, I suppose they're just a bunch of anti-war types, or at least were egged on by anti-war types, speaking truth to Power.
However, not knowing the real story behind the photos, it is really much more entertaining to try to think up a none political motive behind it all.
I prefer to think they had just drank too much wine at their brunch and were acting silly like teens do -- sort of a second childhood or something.
They're kinda old. I'm a boomer and it will be a few more years before I look like that. Strange indeed. And the pistol looks like a Ruger 22 semiautomatic, that ain't right.
Anyway, as soon as I saw the picture I knew it was your post. Keep up the good work.
People are freakin' wierd.
People are freakin' wierd.
you may notice
that they're *Brit* geezers.
Brits? How can you tell? I suppose that means the gun is a toy.
I had the same reaction, Gumshoe. The homes look British to me.
Thankfully, it was cold that day, and the women were apparently not tempted to carefully duplicate the (lack of) clothing depicted in the original.
That would be showing too much geezer for this younger geezer.

the houses in the background are UK-style....or could be more northernly UK... Scotland or somehwere in Ireland as well,I suppose.
just looked again, and there's a good chance the man in the first photo is the same one photoed twice(after a wardrobe change) and photo-shopped.
