Happy New Years

New Years is upon us, and so many of us will be attending parties tonight. I know I'll be taking my tuxedo out of mothballs and awing the young'uns when I hit the dance floor with my patented Watusi moves. I hope you have a good New Years Eve as well.

Happy New Year

Cocktail Party by Joe Vandello

Tonight, wherever you are, when the clock strikes midnight, you'll be able to put 2023 to rest and move on to 2024. While in a macro sense, 2023 wasn't a particularly good year, hopefully for you it was fine. And hopefully 2024 will treat you even better.

If you're at a party tonight enjoy yourself and try to avoid getting falling-down drunk in the process. Tomorrow morning, if you must, take whatever hang-over cure you fancy. Then write your New Year resolutions knowing full well that by half-time of the afternoon bowl game you'll already have broken most of them.

At any rate, have a happy New Year's Eve and New Year Day all.

The birthing pains of a new year

Trying to remember the details
of your New Year's Eve party
through the fog of last night's alchohol

He realised at once that a mistake had been made: he had been sent the wrong hangover. Somewhere in northern Rhodesia there was a bull elephant who had got drunk on fermented marula fruit, rampaged through a nearby village, and fallen asleep in a ditch, and was now pleasantly surprised to find itself greeting the day with only the mild headache that follows a couple of bottles of good red wine… Perhaps if he got in touch with the relevant authorities he could get this unfortunate little mix-up corrected, but he would have to do so without moving his head or opening his eyes. Otherwise he would die from the pain. ― Ned Beauman

Bid goodbye to 2022

Click your glasses together tonight,

Tonight is New Year's Eve, so soon we'll be rid of 2022. Inflation at home, wokesters running wild, a major war in Europe, and China acting more incompetently bonkers than usual. Good riddance to 2022. So, tip your glasses in toast tonight and have a good party as you ring in the new year.

Babylonian New Year stew

This is a 4,000-year-old recipe for a Babylonian stew. It is one of the oldest recipes we know. It is thought it was used for a Spring Festival, which was the Babylonian New Year. He also describes the festival's ceremonies,

I know. I'm lazy. But I made myself a New Years resolution that I would write myself something really special. Which means I have 'til December, right? - Catherine O'Hara

Happy New Year

I like to think that these two young ladies are in a lifeboat that just escaped from the sinking wreck of the S.S. TwentyTwenty. Hopefully things will improve for them and us. Happy New Year all.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all. 2020 is upon us, and hopefully this year the promises of the 21st Century will finally dawn. Enough with the dystopian non-21st Century hellhole years we've been saddled with for the last two decades. I want my flying cars, rocket ship vacations, conveyor belt sidewalks and form fitting future fashions clinging to 21st Century babes and I want them now!

Regardless, onward and upward is my motto. May this year be even more prosperous and better than the last.

These kids seem to be too old to be New Year Babies and too young to be drinking Champaign, but whatever. Anyway, adios 2018 and welcome 2019. Hope you all have a good one.
